12/02/2025, 9:38 am EST
Climate Impact Company Week 2-to-4 South America Outlook
Issued: Friday December 5, 2025
Headline: East Brazil adjusted drier week 3-4 ahead.
Charts of the day: Wetter Brazil trend developing short-term.

Discussion: During the past week, wetter than normal weather began to generate in parts of Central and East Brazil while the tendency for periods of wet weather continued in Argentina. The 7-day forecast indicates organized above normal rainfall continues to increase across Brazil.
Week-2 Valid December 14-21, 2025: Heavy rain east of Paraguay.

Discussion: Maintaining consistency with the GFS-generated 7-day forecast, GFS is applied to the week-2 outlook which indicates heat-suppressing rains across Southwest Brazil and eastward of Paraguay. Anomalous heat and dryness is indicated either side of the wet zone.
Week-3 Valid December 21-28, 2025: East Brazil (wet) forecast reverses drier.

Discussion: An upper trough on the Southeast Brazil Coast as projected by climate forecasts for early calendar summer is not there. Instead, weak low pressure across Central Brazil fuels wetter than normal conditions for Central Brazil while East Brazil is trending drier. Argentina is drier and hotter than normal.
Week-4 Valid December 28, 2025-January 4, 2026: Drier/hotter Argentina.

Discussion: Weak low pressure is indicated over Central to Southeast Brazil but no well-defined upper trough. The forecast trend is drier.
