Discussion: The U.S. gas population weight HDD forecast stays cold with high national heating demand through next week. The outlook is moderately cold Jan. 17-23 and the extended range for February is much warmer due to an expected mild month in the East.

Discussion: The cold pattern begins to erode, especially over Texas and the southern Great Plains. Cold in the East is maintained by snow cover.
Medium-range 11-15 Day Forecast Valid January 17-21, 2025 (24-hour change)
Discussion: A warmer trend is strongly indicated across the Central and East U.S. where most of the anomalous cold fades. The new cold zone is in Western Canada to the U.S. Rockies.
