Discussion: In today’s updated summer 2021 outlook the temperature trend was much warmer and the CDD forecasts show that change particularly in July and August. The July forecast roared from 374 to 400 CDD while August surged from 322 to 340 CDD. The July forecast is 3rd hottest of the past 20 years and hottest since 2012. The meteorological summer CDD forecast is 985 CDD which is almost exactly alike to last year (987 CDD). Summer 2021 is currently forecast 6th hottest of the past 20 years trailing only last year, 2018, 2016, 2011 and 2010. The forecast trend is hotter and to eclipse last year and 2018 is possible.
