Climate Impact Company Week 2-4 Outlook
Europe/Western Russia
Issued: Tuesday, November 11, 2025
Highlight: Northwest Eurasia cold expands westward inspired by deepening snow cover; South of snow cover Europe is mild.
Charts of the day: Snow cover and snow cover anomalies.

Discussion: Northern hemisphere snow cover as of November 10, 2025, has expanded across all of Russia (except southwest) and most of Canada. Snow cover is ahead of schedule Interior Northeast U.S., along the Northern China border, and West China. Snow cover will bias the local climate cold. Below normal snow cover is vividly present across Northeast Europe and Northwest Russia biasing the climate pattern warm although snow and cold is ahead for this zone.
Week-2 Ahead Forecast valid November 16-23, 2025: Mostly rain across Ukraine; Cold Northwest Eurasia.

Discussion: Vigorous stormy track, mostly rain, stretches from Southern Europe to Southern Russia dividing cool-to-cold weather across Northwest Eurasia and warmth in the Black Sea region eastward.
Week-3 Ahead Forecast valid November 23-30, 2025: Storm track strengthens Europe; Snowy Russia.

Discussion: Late November brings significant snow to Southwest to West-central Russia enabling a colder trend. Northern Europe will stay cold. Southwest Europe warms and between the different air masses across Europe, a vigorous (mostly rain) storm track extends from U.K. eastward to Poland.
Week-4 Ahead Forecast valid November 30-December 7, 2025: Drier Europe; Snowy Russia to Black Sea region.

Discussion: The expanding Western Russia snow cover causes the core of the Northwest Eurasia cold pattern to expand eastward leaving areas with snow (much of Central/Southern Europe) warm.
