Discussion: According to GFS, a semi-permanent upper-level longwave low-pressure trough anchors over Europe during the remainder of November causing a chilly pattern to develop (Fig. 1) also featuring heavy precipitation (Fig. 2). At night, widespread 20’s (F) cover Europe into early December with teens (F) across Scandinavia and Northwest Russia. <32F reaches the British Isles. Snow appears with the colder weather, especially the South-central Europe Mountains and parts of Eastern Europe (Fig. 3). The colder weather allows the snow cover to increase by early December (Fig. 4). The 15-day Europe temperature tracker identifies the short-term cold lasting into next week (Fig. 5). Moderation is indicated in the extended range although GFS maintains the cold.
