Discussion: The November 2022 northern hemisphere snow cover was tied for 3rd most in the 1966-2022 record (Fig. 1). In North America, November 2022 ranked 3rd most snowy on record (Fig. 2) while Eurasia was 12th most snowy of the past 57 years (Fig. 3). Note the tendency for snowy months of November in the northern hemisphere since 2010. The constricted polar ice cap and attendant increase in northern latitude open water beneath the cold winds of November lead to an “ocean-effect” advection snow typically causing a lot of snow during late November.
