Discussion: May 2025 CDD count was an over-achiever for Europe Western Cities. The consensus of selected West Europe cities CDD in May was MUCH ABOVE normal and inspired by Heathrow and Paris-Orly with warmest departures (Fig. 1). The warm signature appears in the June and July forecast for Western Europe as the consensus of selected cities is much warmer than the 10-year normal and except for JUN-23 is the warmest of the past 3 years. The warm signature remains for late summer although closer to the 10-year normal. The Western Europe selected cities CDD forecast consensus has increased since the outlook issued on May 27th (Fig. 2).

In Eastern Europe, the consensus of selected cities CDD verification for May was slightly above normal and the outlook stays in-between the 10-year and 30-year normal through July warming to near or warmer than the 10-year normal for late summer (Fig. 3). The Eastern Europe selected cities CDD forecast for the 2025 warm season has increased slightly since the previous forecast (Fig. 4).
