Discussion: The lunar eclipse on Sunday April 7 begins at 1:27CDT in Texas and ends at 3:35EDT in Maine. The projected cloud cover for the event indicates most of the track has cloud obscuration according to GFS (Fig. 1). The latest wind power potential forecast for the Central U.S. through the next 15 days indicates increasing potential across the southwest Great Plains realized markedly by the 6-10-day period with widening for a major wind production event in the 11-15-day period from Texas to the Midwest (Fig. 2-4).
