Discussion: A frontal system delivers a narrow band of rain mostly east of Paraguay on Saturday possibly exceeding 1 in. (Fig. 1). The rainfall is beneficial to the southern sugarcane areas in Southern Brazil. On Sunday, the front edges eastward and focuses and additional 1-2 in. of rain for the southern sugarcane zone (Fig. 2). Several days of dry weather will follow. However, another frontal system bringing more widespread rainfall is projected by AIFS for late next week. The event could produce a broader 1-2 in. of rain reaching farther northward in the sugarcane zone (Fig. 3).
