Discussion: The warmest autumn on record ended with the 6th warmest November on record (Fig. 1). In November, the eastern half of the U.S. was exceptionally warm while most of the West was temperate. Four states observed the warmest November on record including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Maine. November was the 17th wettest on record which is impressive given the mostly very dry meteorological autumn (Fig. 2). Oklahoma observed their wettest November on record while Kansas recorded their 2nd wettest month of November. The entire Central U.S. was wetter than normal in November.

Meteorological autumn (SEP/OCT/NOV 2024) the warmest on record including record warmth for Texas, Nebraska, Minnesota and Wisconsin plus Maine (Fig. 3). Each of the 48 contiguous states observed above too much above normal temperature. The U.S. observed the 36th driest meteorological autumn on record (Fig. 4). Of (dramatic) interest was the widespread drought across the Northeast U.S. which included the driest autumn on record for Maine, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Delaware.
