Discussion: Last week the wet weather pattern was impressive across Central and especially East/Southeast Europe. Rainfall was sufficient to turn-around the Rhine River level forecast which is still critically low but substantially improved from a week ago and additional improvement is expected!
Week-2 Ahead Forecast valid September 5-11, 2022: Another wet upper trough for Europe.
Discussion: Another transient upper-level low-pressure trough brings wet weather to Western Europe. The rains will extend eastward across Europe during the week. Hot weather is suppressed southward to Southern Italy.
Week-3 Ahead Forecast valid September 12-18, 2022: Marginally warm/showery pattern.
Discussion: Wet weather remains focused on East/Southeast Europe, similar to the previous forecast. However, Western Europe also trends showery. The outlook is warmer than previously indicated.
Week-4 Ahead Forecast valid September 19-25, 2022: Southeast Europe to stay wet.
Discussion: Upper trough brings a temperate pattern and maintains wet risk across East/Southeast Europe and into the Black Sea region. France and Spain trend drier on the backside of the upper trough pattern.
