Another Hot Blast for Mid-August in U.S.

The ECMWF and AI 4Cast Net V2 ECM ENS are in excellent agreement on regenerating significant heat for Mid-August this time affecting the West/Northwest U.S. while excessive heat regenerates in the Northeast U.S.

July 2025 ENSO, PDO, AMO, and IOD Analog Forecasts

To help generate new season 1-4 ahead global climate forecasts, a constructed analog projection (through 2027) for ENSO, PDO, AMO, and IOD is revealed. The ENSO outlook indicates weak La Nina potential for Q4/2025 coupled with -IOD which supports wet Australia climate. The tendency of ENSO toward weak La Nina increases risk of significant tropical cyclone activity in the North Atlantic basin during AUG/SEP/OCT. The longest -PDO on record will continue possibly changing character to cooler Northeast Pacific SSTA (which promotes La Nina). The AMO regime stays warm through 2027.

U.S. Cool Break This Weekend/Early Next Week is Brief; More Heat to Follow!

A warmer change in the 11-15-day forecast as ECM ENS loses the cool regime into early next week and rewarms much of the U.S. including hot weather extending from California to the Mid-south States. Note the wet arc across Cuba possibly related to a tropical system.
