Week 2 Ahead: March 4-10, 2018 

Comment: Monsoonal trough is strong and causes heavy rain across the Interior Northeast/East-Central Australia drought zone. Anomalous heat and dryness is persistent across Western Australia. The forecast is based on a consensus between operational/ensemble versions of the GFS.

Week 3 Ahead: March 11-17, 2018 

Comment: MJO influence (Indian Ocean/Indonesia location) maintains excessive rainfall risk in Central Australia.

Week 4 Ahead: March 18-24, 2018

Comment: Wet weather continues across most of the northern portion of Australia.
